Healthy Gen and Community Health Workers Speak to Legislative Task Force

On Friday, November 20th, Healthy Gen staff were proud to accompany members of the statewide Community Health Worker Task Force in presenting to the House Health Care and Wellness Committee on the Task Force’s progress and their unique perspectives as CHWs or sector representatives.

Health Care Authority Chief Policy Officer, Nathan Johnson, Washington State Department of Health Section Manager, Kathleen Clark, and Healthy Gen’s Senior Director of Applied Research, Kathy Burgoyne first provided background, context, and the objectives of the Task Force before turning the presentation over to Coulee Medical Center CHW Molly Morris, Seattle-King County Public Health CHW Michelle DiMiscio, and former CHW and current Coordinated Care manager Norma Owens.

Molly, Michelle, and Norma each provided personal testimonials reflecting both the care and value that each provide in their work for individuals and families in Washington state. You can listen to audio from the day here, starting at about the 58 minute mark.
